Black Buck Antelope Information
Native to India, the antelope are known for their long spiral paired horns on males. Black buck exhibit a dark coat with white under bellies and ‘fire hydrant’ type white circles around the eye area. Hunting size is only about one hundred pounds, although antler length is not reached until age four or five. Blackbuck antelope tend to settle in groups of several females with one male in smaller territorial areas.
Typical horn length for our quality black bucks at Heart A Ranch is a minimum of 18 inches. Black buck are available for hunting year round, with chances of taking a trophy equal all year.
